A true Republican would embrace this…

A true Republican would embrace this...Seriously. There is a HUGE problem when this stupid (although sorta adorable) image has to show up on every news station and waste hours of my daily news consumption time.

At first I thought that the 'Republicans' who are fueling this into an issue were only doing so to jump on J Crew's stock (JCG) at a lower point and short trade it - now that would have been cleaver. Unfortunately, J Crew is a privately held company which would make this theory less plausible.

The second theory, which seems more likely, is that those behind turning this into an issue were attempting to pander to lower-middle class Roman Catholic Republicans in an attempt of name recognition. This not only hurts the party but also goes against it: it's her kid, leaver her alone. What ever happened to allowing people their civil liberties? What ever happened to actually 'investigating' relevant issues like current over spending? Why do I even feel compelled to write about something that I got in my e-mail inbox as well and originally choose to ignore? A Republican who opposes this is no better than those Democrat 'nut-jobs' who were up-in-arms about circumcision a few years back.

Colbert Testifies on Immigration

0 Colbert Testifies on Immigration At times humorous faux-conservative comedian, Steven Colbert, testified before a committee on immigration reform today. I think my favorite part was when the camera would span around to see the committee member's reactions. All-in-all, he had some decent input and if the committee actually implemented his idea for working illegals I am sure American Apparel would be able to recover from the labor situation that caused their stock to nose dive.

Fake Depression & Free Market Capitalism

First of all, everyone has to ignore the presented notions of "the depression..." its only making maters worse (and the only reason the economy went from "surplus" to "recession" is because you, the American public, wanted it to do that). What I am going to suggest, in keeping with the same mentality of driving out the "socialist ideal" in favor of raw, war-like, free market capitalism, is buy WHATEVER you want.

An odd coincidence or reality?

Today, I was reading a book today titled "South Park Conservatives" (look it up, I don't feel like describing it). I originally bought it after reading that it related Libertarian values back to the Comedy Central show, South Park. After a quarter of reading it, frustrated that the majority of it so far had been focused on Rush Limbaugh and a general liberal bias in all media, I stopped reading and went out for drinks. I returned to look up Rush's radio show, or a video of him I could find primarily out of curiosity. The first thing that came up was an interview of him with Barbra Walters. WOW. I don't know that to think of Rush exactly, but that ABC interview was the most absurdly bias  and superficial thing I've seen in awhile.
